The Invitation Still Stands
“Where curiosity and courage break the silence of shame.”
It’s the Woman Made Well tagline, and it’s still radically accurate and necessary for any woman who wants to experience the fullness of Jesus by living out her purpose here on earth. John 10:10 To be made whole in Jesus starts with examining ourselves and having the courage to speak, to be honest with our stories about our lack and His sufficiency. 2 Corinthians 13:5
It is God’s heart for me. It’s God’s heart for you. It’s God’s story He’s writing through my life and yours.
I’m in step back and evaluate mode with almost a year under Woman Made Well’s belt. Thanks for journeying along with me. And yes, the invitation still stands. The tagline is still the plea from God to encourage us and to inspire each other – from one bleeding woman to another. Let’s let God make us well together and hand something of eternal value to our next generation. Mark 5:34 NIV
When I decided to start a blog in 2020 in the middle of a pandemic, you need to realize I had no idea what I was doing. I took a nearly three-year hiatus from social media because I felt it made things worse for my mind. So when I thought God was calling me to venture back into social media again, I was really reluctant, saying to God and myself, “I don’t know what You want me to do in this space?” So finally, I told Him that He would have to completely carry me into this because I wasn’t sure I even wanted to be here, but I was willing to go. Genesis 24:58
The Woman Made Well name and tagline were both a gift to me. Before I knew I was a bleeding woman, my daughter named her Navigator ministry team ‘Team Made Well” after the bleeding woman story in Mark 5 as I fought for my life in 2014. God put me in the right place at the right time to me meet people who would assist me and walk beside me spiritually, emotionally, relationally, and physically.
I even received professional help to develop my tagline.
Thanks to the author and speaker, Shala Graham of Calling Qualified Ministries, for giving me an hour and a half of her time and several follow-up email conversations to develop the tagline when Shala only promised me a fifteen-minute conversation. That’s God working right there. Nothing I did but show up.
Both bloomed from a purpose for my life already written for and in me by God.
In collaboration with other people, not only did God bring meaning from pain and suffering that I had already lived through – even before I recognized Him as my Savior – but he pointed to a hopeful future full of promise and purpose. Jeremiah 29:11
I just said yes.
If there is anything I’ve learned from pain and suffering, it’s to embrace our personal stories no matter how much we’d like to change the facts. Those things we’d like to forget are the exact places and circumstances that God wants to turn around and use for good. It’s the redemption story – exactly where the bomb went off – is where He wants to create something beautiful.
When I started this Woman Made Well journey, I did not realize that so much of who I am, what I do, and the people I gravitate to was wrapped up in my purpose and what God created me to do.
So it’s already inside you. Let God awaken who He created you to be. Walk out your faith in knowing that you are His beloved daughter. Or you can be if you simply ask Him in. Then, tell others the whole truth about what God’s done for you.
Jesus wants you to rest in Him first, knowing, “I’ve done it all for you. I’ve crucified all the things you’ve done or were done to you that currently cause you shame with Me on the cross. It’s done. You don’t have to hide from or strive or please anyone anymore. Just seek Me first. My gracious yoke is light. Let me give abundantly to you. Will you rest in My presence?”
