Dance On Heartache
It is a new day! Welcome to Woman Made Well website. It’s been seven-plus years in the making through some tough, tough days. But today, I celebrate!! I’m so glad you decided to celebrate with me.
Will you dance on the heartache with me!!
So long to shame Walk through the sorrow Out of the fire Into tomorrow So flush the pills Face the fear Feel the weight disappear We’re coming clean We’re born again Our hopeful lungs can breathe again Oh, we can breathe again Step into a new day We can rise up from the dust and walk away We can dance upon the heartache, yeah So light a match, leave the past, burn the ships And don’t you look back Lyrics - “Burn the Ships“ for King & Country
Kelli’s Status
Journal entry by MW – Jun 5, 2014
Dear friends and loved ones,
The site is set up to provide updates about Kelli’s condition. We will continue to send updates as we know more.
Kelli’s liver has failed. She is in critical care in the intensive care unit (ICU) at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN.
Four pieces of good news:
- Kelli has type AB+ blood which is the universal recipient blood type. This means that she has many potential liver donor matches.
- She is critically ill, but her condition is being managed by a team of providers devoted to her care.
- She is a Status 1, meaning she is at the top of the list for a liver from anywhere in the U.S.
- We have received news that a liver has been recovered from a donor and her transplant is expected for early this afternoon. We know that the availability of this liver means that somewhere, a family is mourning over the loss of a loved one. But praise be to God that this individual has given us an invaluable gift. We are hopeful! The Lord has heard our cries.
We are praying Psalm 139 about how the Lord is aware of and in complete control of the situation. He knows Kelli and knows what she needs. We are expecting that He will meet us here. Please pray for a successful transplant surgery and for the long recovery ahead. We know that we have people all over the world praying for our mom, sister, wife, daughter, and friend. When we pray, He longs to answer us. Your prayers are much appreciated.
That’s where my journey started. Completely broken. A broken body, a broken mind, a broken spirit.
But it’s not where it ended.
It’s with celebration and excited trembling; I start this walk with you. Thank you for showing up. I think we are going to learn a lot together. It’s the very best way – connected, continuously learning from each other, and healing together.
We have a lot of shame to say goodbye to.
A big thanks to my husband and family. I love you! You have been there for me through it all. Thanks to old friends for your faithfulness and for the new ones I’ve met along the way who let me fall apart and allowed for messy healing to happen in their presence without judgment.
This is my story – the heartache intermingled with joy while finding a purpose for the pain. This truth I know with all my heart. Jesus was with me then, and He’s with me now.
“The Lord God will help me; therefore I have not been humiliated; therefore I have set my face like flint, and I know I will not be put to shame.” Isaiah 50:7

God never wastes anything. Your transparency, Kelli, will be used by God to heal many. Transparency and vulnerability allow others the gift of healing too. You are a blessing in my life and I’m excited for this new journey.

I wouldn’t be here without you! There aren’t really enough words to express how much I appreciate your friendship. Thanks for your wise counsel and for helping me go after and claim God’s promises in my life. I love you!
